Online Presentation of the AI4Lawyers Guide- 31. 3. 2022

The CCBE is pleased to invite you to participate in the online Public Presentation of the CCBE-ELF Guide on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by lawyers and law firms in the EU on Thursday 31 March 2022 from 14.00 to 18.00 (CET).

This event, which will gather EU officials, Bars’ representatives and lawyers, will also address the challenges posed by the digitalisation of justice, the digital transformation of law firms, and the use of AI in justice.

The Guide is the final deliverable of the CCBE-ELF project called AI4Lawyers financed with the support of the Justice Programme of the EU. The objective of the project is to provide a better understanding for lawyers and small and medium-sized law firms on how to use the opportunities provided by new technologies, such as conversational systems, which can open up new service channels to clients.

As you will see in the draft programme, after an introduction on the digitalisation of justice in Europe and a presentation of the Guide, there will be two panel discussions:

  • Panel 1 will be devoted to the digital transformation of law firms – challenges and opportunities. The focus will be on the challenges and opportunities for law firms when integrating new technologies in their practices. Training needs and other actions to support the digital empowerment of lawyers/law firms will be highlighted.
  • Panel 2 entitled “The do’s and don’ts – can AI deliver Justice?” will address the CCBE concerns on the use of AI in justice in the context of the latest EU legislative proposals, as well as the work of the Council of Europe, and more broadly discuss the digital transformation of justice.

Participation in this event is free, but registration is compulsory at the following address: event@ccbe.eu.

Please note that the event will be held in English only without simultaneous interpretation.
